buyer questions
Q. How often do you have these sales? A. Our Spring/Summer sales are typically in March/April and our Fall/Winter sales are in September/October of each year. Q. Are children allowed on opening day? A. Yes, although it is very crowded, and the lines to checkout can be long. Q. Are the sales located indoors? A. Yes. Sales are located in air-conditioned/heated buildings. Q. Are there any parking fees or entrance fees? A. No parking fees. We charge an admission of $2 for the first day we are open to the public only. Children 18 and under are always free. consignor questionsQ. Who can consign their items and become a seller? A. Anyone can consign their children's and maternity items with Just Between Friends. We request that you have a minimum of 20 items or $50 worth of items. Q. What percentage of the sales do I receive? A. Consignors receive 65% of their sales less a $10 consignor fee (deducted from your check). Consignors who volunteer 4 hours or more earn 70%. We do have some special incentives and ways to earn 75%. Q. Who does the pricing? A. You set your own price and you get to decide if it is discounted for our half-price day. Q. What percentage of my items can I expect to sell? A. Most sellers sell approximately 80% of their items in sizes 2-10. For sizes under 24 mos. the percentage drops a bit due to the sheer volume of merchandise received. People also tend to receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc. The older sizes (12-16 & up) also will sell a lower percentage as children become pickier as they near the pre-teen years. Participating in the 50% off sale will result in higher sale, thus a bigger check for the consignor.
Q. How do I sign up to consign? A. Just click on our "Online Signup" button and fill out the form. You will recieve an email confirmation within moments. Q. Will the Owasso Sale have more space? A. We will once again have our sale in the HUGE gymnasium inside Owasso First Assembly (big white church across from Home Depot). Bring us EVERYTHING you have--we've got room! There will be tons of parking, too! Q. How long should I give myself to drop off my items? A. It typically takes about 45 minutes to drop off your items. Save time by printing our online consignor waiver (see drop off/pick up page). Your items will be inspected and then you place them in the designated areas around the sales floor. It is helpful to bring a wagon to drop off your items. This time will depend on how many items you bring and how many people are there at the same time. HINT: earlier is ALWAYS better! Q. When and where do I drop off my items? A. Drop off is on Monday, Monday Sept 28th from 2PM-9PM and again on Tuesday, Sept 29th from 9AM-1PM. No appointment is needed but please arrive within these hours or your items will not be accepted. Come in the parking lot to the large entrance with an overhang that says "Activity Center". Do not park under the overhang!
Q. When do I pick up my unsold items? A. Unsold items are to be picked up on Saturday, October 3rd. If your last name begins with A-M, your pick up time is 7-7:45. N-Z's pick up times are 7:45-8:30pm. If you cannot pick up your items, please make arrangements to have someone else pick them up for you or make sure you mark them with a "D" on the tag to donate them to the Laura Dester Children's Shelter or to Standing in the Gap. Please note: If someone else picks up your items, we are NOT responsible for items they miss! Q. Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items? A. No, when you pick up your unsold items, your hanging garments will already be sorted by Consignor# for easy pickup. As time and volunteer sign-ups allow, we hope to have all of the other items (toys, books) sorted, too. Q. How long does it take to receive my check? A. Your check will be mailed to you 2 weeks after the end of the sale. Q. Will I know what items have sold? A. By using www.myjbftags.com you can see your sold items. Just visit the website and log into your account.
Q. Can I use a tagging gun to attach my tags to the clothing items? A. Yes! This is much faster than safety pins and doesn't hurt your fingers. Please use short plastic attachers so your tag doesn't get rippped as easily if tugged on. Q. Where can I purchase tagging guns? A. Other consignors have purchased guns at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, eBay and other internet stores or retail fixture stores. Prices can be high on tagging guns at office supply stores so research on the internet if possible. Q. Where do I find safety pins/coat hangers? A. Most dry cleaners will give you a modest amount of these items free. If you need a lot, ask if you can buy them. Most of the time, dry cleaners will sell you these supplies at a reduced amount (cheaper than discount stores). The other place to try is your local dollar store. Q. Do I have to use wire child-sized hangers? A. No, you can use child sized plastic hangers available at many dollar stores and at WalMart, Target, etc.. Please still try to put the size 4 and under on child sized hangers and the size 5 and above can go on the larger, adult hangers. Q. If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale? A. No. Consignors drop off their items and put them out on the selling floor during the designated drop-off times and come back during the designated times to pick up their unsold items. We do all the rest! Q. What items are you taking? A. We accept anything related to babies, children or maternity. The clothing must be current season. For our April sale, we will be accepting only Spring/Summer clothing including swimsuits.. For our September sale, bring your Fall and Winter items. Other great items are toys, books, videos, strollers, baby equipment, nursery items, large play equipment, bedding, cribs, changing tables, etc. Q. Even though this is the Fall/Winter sale, can I bring sandals? A. No. Q. Do you accept shoes and how many? A. Yes, please bring only your best shoes, we have no limit, however, shoes must be in like-new condition. Any shoes that are too worn or out of style will not be accepted. Q. What about stuffed animals? A. We DO NOT accept stuffed animals. They take up tremendous space that we need for higher demand items.
Q. Will you have a Mommy Mart? A. No, the Owasso sale will not have a Mommy Mart, at least this time. Due to space constraints we will use our space strictly for children's and maternity items.
Q. Do you accept junior/teen clothing? A. NO. We are no longer accepting these items. We need more space for children's and maternity items.
worker questionsQ. Can anyone sign up as a volunteer and attend the volunteer presales? A. Yes, anyone age 18 and over may sign up to volunteer on a first come/first serve basis. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer. Q. Can I bring a guest to the volunteer worker presale? A. Volunteers may not bring guests unless the guest completes their own applicable work times. Each presale pass is good for 1 person to enter the presale. For safety reasons, children under 12 are not permitted at pre-sales. The only exception to this rule will be babies that are in infant carriers on an adult.
Q. How long are the shifts? A. 8 hours or 4 hours. Check out the available worktimes on our "volunteers" page.
Q. Do you provide childcare for volunteers? A. We apologize, but we do not offer childcare at this time and you may not bring children while you are working. Q. I'm pregnant or have a medical condition. Is it OK for me to be a volunteer? A. We have several shifts available with tasks that can be done sitting down.
